Plan to join us October 7-9, 2026!

CWMA’s Annual Conference is British Columbia’s premier waste management industry networking event with delegates from across North America.

Attend In-Person or Virtually!

Thanks to our top sponsors in 2025!

About the Conference

Network with peers. Tackle real challenges. Leave energized.

Our Conference has always been a favourite place to network and connect Western Canada’s solid waste management industry.

A forum for awareness-building and action-oriented discussions, this annual event brings together the waste management community to exchange knowledge, inspire solutions, and make connections!

In 2026, we’re doing More with Less — exploring how the sector can stretch tighter budgets, leaner teams, and shrinking landfill space into smarter systems, stronger partnerships, and better outcomes. Building on the Legacy of Solutions from our 30th anniversary, we’re channelling that same resourcefulness into the challenges ahead.

Roundtable Wednesday

Conference Wednesday is designed as a more diverse and interactive day. A mix of activities, sessions, roundtables, and workshops brings great opportunities for both learning and networking in different formats.

Who Attends?

Last year, we welcomed 337 delegates both in person and virtually.

From British Columbia and Beyond

Delegates come from across British Columbia and North America. In 2025, 35% were from Vancouver Island and our Coastal Communities, 38% from Metro Vancouver, 13% from the rest of BC, and 14% from outside BC.

Multidisciplinary Professionals

We bring together representatives from municipalities, private corporations, stewardship organizations, and non-profits — from front-line technicians to executive leadership.

Representing Every Area of Industry

Delegates are involved in recycling, composting, policy development, waste reduction, producer responsibility, hauling, waste education, consulting, and managing solid waste facilities, landfills and more!
