Tour #1 | 2:15 – 4:45 PM | $20 plus tax
Hartland Landfill
Hartland Landfill is owned and operated by the CRD and is located about 14km northwest of Victoria. It is the only solid waste disposal facility in the Capital Region, serving about 440,000 people. Hartland receives about 180,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste per year. The operation is a multi-purpose facility that collects and processes recycling, household hazardous waste, salvageable items, and yard and garden waste, and provides controlled waste disposal and landfill service to commercial and residential customers. Please note: this is a general information tour. CRD team members will be available during the conference for more in-depth questions.
BUS | Meets at the front of the Delta and leaves at 2:15 PM promptly. We use the bus on site, so no PPE is required for this event.
Tour #2 | 2:30 – 4:30 PM | No Cost
GFL Sites Walking Tour
We will be visiting two contiguous sites. 524 David Street (Public Drop-Off Depot): functions as a convenient, multi-material public drop-off yard. Open seven days a week, it allows residents, small businesses, and contractors to drive onto commercial scales to drop off household garbage, scrap metal, large appliances, electronics, and yard waste. 2525 Bridge Street (Commercial Transfer Station): serves as the heavy-duty spine of the facility; this dedicated gate handles high-volume commercial haulers, construction trucks, and bin services. Behind the gates, mixed commercial waste and regional recycling streams are mechanically sorted and consolidated before being transported out of the city center.

Tour #3 | 2:15 – 4:15 PM | $50 plus tax
Songhees Cultural Walking Tour | Xʷsəyq̓əm – Place of Mud
We are proud to offer this popular, immersive, First Nation-led walking tour through the heart of Victoria’s Inner Harbour, one of the most visited places on the West Coast. Deeply driven by authenticity, Songhees Tours are guided by Lək̓ʷəŋən hosts who bring guests onto the highways of their ancestors, where every footstep is grounded in truth, protocol, and lived experience. Supported by community Elders, these experiences invite guests into real cultural exchange where oral history, language, and place-based teachings come together in unforgettable ways. WALKING | Please wear comfy shoes. Meet your CWMA guides in the Delta lobby by 2:10 PM. You will leave from the Delta harbour-side doors and walk as a group to the inner harbour (across from the Fairmont), where the tour begins.
