LET's BUILD THIS TOGETHER

Collective Knowledge Funding Campaign

Recognizing the need for a centralized, reliable resource hub with comprehensive information, useful comparisons, and key data metrics, we’re launching this campaign to build it right—and soon

Our Current Clearinghouse

CWMA has long served as a place for collecting and sharing resources, and we regularly receive information requests from members and across our network.

While we’ve traditionally handled these requests on a case-by-case basis, we’ve made some strategic advances this year:

  1. Launched a centralized Resource Library (https://cwma.ca/knowledge-base/)
to house commonly requested resources and make them easily accessible.
  2. Developed a comprehensive framework for our resource compilations, data collection, and analysis activities; moving from reactive responses to proactive resource development.
  3. Started a Data Advisory Group that is helping us determine the best baseline measures, processes for collecting, and will be working toward standardizing some of the metrics we all use. This group includes representatives from SWM consulting, local government, stewards, as well as the provincial and federal governments. We will be adding corporations and non-profits into the conversation in 2026.

CWMA’s Unique Position / Distinct Advantage

As a neutral organization with extensive reach across British Columbia’s industry, we are uniquely positioned to:

  • Gather comprehensive industry information from diverse sources
  • Compile publicly available data into shared metrics and benchmarks
  • Deliver accessible insights and trend analysis unavailable elsewhere

Maximizing Existing Resources

Rather than creating new reporting burdens, we will transform what already exists, synthesizing available information into genuinely useful resources that serve the entire industry.

Streamlining Industry Reporting

We recognize the burden of repetitive reporting, particularly when members must submit similar information to provincial and federal authorities. Our Data Advisory Group will help us work to simplify outreach and standardize some of the metrics that are commonly used within the industry.
