Harnessing Data to Demonstrate the Social Return on Investment | June 5, 2025 | 1:00-2:30 PM
Social Return on Investment (SROI) focuses on identifying and measuring the social, environmental, and economic outcomes of a project or activity. It aims to quantify the societal benefits, such as improvements in well-being, environmental protection, or reduced inequality, by assigning a monetary value to them.
The purpose of this (1.5-hour) intro session is to engage non-profits, and organizations that embrace social return on investment, in learning and discussion about reporting on the value being realized – be it social, economic, and environmental – in ways that are understood by those who could make investments in your organizations.
SROI analysis allows social service organizations, and those who fund them, to legitimize their actions by assigning a monetary value to their contribution, thus allowing them to “speak the language of the traditional business community”.
Having a method to express the value of your work in a concise and standardized way come with many benefits.
