We will begin this important discussion on disaster debris management with a roundtable to kick-start the collaboration and knowledge-building we need to move toward coordinated solutions. This event is intended to inspire forward action.
Debris Management is a critical component of emergency and disaster preparedness. It represents one of the most significant yet often under-appreciated challenges facing British Columbia’s emergency response and recovery systems.
As the province continues to experience increasingly frequent and severe natural disasters—including wildfires, flooding, landslides, and atmospheric rivers—the need for comprehensive, coordinated debris management strategies has never been more important.
No Cost. This event is generously subsidized with thanks to the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Cowichan Valley Regional District.
