Waste to Watts Series – Part 2
Energy and Resource Recovery from Waste: Exploring Climate, Carbon, and Business Cases
In British Columbia, “waste as a resource” refers to strategies for transforming waste streams into valuable resources, reducing landfill waste, and mitigating environmental impacts. This involves reducing waste generation, reusing materials, recycling, recovering energy, nutrients, and deriving other benefits from waste.
On this 90-minute session we continue to explore other applications and innovations, and dive into the business case for carbon capture, value-creation, and climate action.
Once again, we will also expand our solid waste focus and include discussion on the confluence of liquid waste, solid waste, and climate action. Look forward to learning more from:
Vignette: Highlights on how bioenergy and biocarbon technologies support the province’s CleanBC climate plan, contributing to greenhouse gas emission reductions by providing low-carbon fuel alternatives and enhancing forest carbon storage.
