It used various grants to build a building in 1990 on a site donated by Merv and Annette Sweeney located at the end of what became known as Tin Can Ally. GIRO opened to the public in 1991 and through a series of challenges and successes over the years\, is now considered a leader in actively encouraging\, enabling and educating islanders on the issues of sustainable environmental practices and reducing our environmental footprint. Let’s tour and learn about their finely-tuned operations\, popular Re-Store\, and unique Circular Economy Textile Initiative\, along with many other great efforts! – COST –$20 | One price for CWMA Members & FriendsThis amount is to cover event administration costs\, gift for our tour hosts\, coffee\, prizes\, shuttle service. +GST.  CWMA’s operations are supported wholly by events like these\, dedicated patronage from sponsors\, and our membership.
