Your presence strengthens the community. Please plan to attend virtually or in person. \n\n– EVENT –\n11:00 AM – 12:30 PM |  Speaker Panel Event (In-Person and Virtual) \nPerspectives in Non-Residential Packaging (and other) Waste Reduction \nHow can we all improve the prevention and recycling of non-residential waste in communities across BC? Let’s hear new perspectives to help us build our knowledge and understand the challenges of managing non-residential packaging (and other) waste. With the Ministry’s “what we heard’ information just released\, it is a perfect time to hear from those managing this day-to-day (challenges and successes) as a way of building awareness and thinking towards solutions. \nAvery Gottfried from the Ministry of Environment and Parks will present a summary on their Non‑Residential Packaging Waste Engagement. We will hear from organizations representing the Industrial\, Institutional and Commercial sectors including: \nJamie McLaren\, Island Health\nClaire Lewis\, GRT / Regenerock\nMark Anson\, Timber Tiles \n\n– BONUS –\nThis is the second event in a series to gather perspectives. The first event Perspectives in Waste Reduction for Commercial Businesses was held as a bonus event at 2024 CWMA Conference and will be made available to registrants of this event at no cost. \n\n– LUNCH –\n12:30 – 1:30 PM | Lunch (In-Person) \nPre-summer Burger Barbecue menu is in the works!\n– 6oz Beef Pattie (and Vegetarian Options) on a brioche bun served with all the fixings including cheese\n– Pasta Salad (dill cream dressing)\n– Green salad\n– Fries\n– Desserts \n\n– TOUR –\n1:45 – 2:30 PM | Optional Tour of GRT \nTake a tour of Vancouver Island’s one-stop\, sustainable alternative to landfilling and quarrying. GRT’s plant uses a unique tech stack—from mining\, wastewater  and other industries—to wash and sort excess soils. They remove the impurities\, then treat and recycle water on site in a closed-loop system.
