With Single Use and Plastic Waste Prevention regulations at both the Federal and Provincial level, managing what to do with your own plans and bylaws may take some fresh ideas, adjustments, and discussion.
CWMA roundtables and open discussions are a key part of our work to help industry share best practices and ideas with each other. Here are a few of the questions we will discuss at this session:
–The advantages and disadvantages of repealing bylaws. –Need for provincial monitoring and enforcement if bylaws get repealed. –Adjusting your bylaws to include everything in the provincial regulation. –Actions you are considering given contradictions with your bylaw (e.g. different minimum fee schedule for bags, different policy around straws)
– WHO SHOULD ATTEND –
Local Governments / those who create bylaws, plans and policies for single use and plastic waste prevention. Those just beginning to explore to those who already have extensive bylaws related to single use and plastic waste prevention.
– COST –
$20 per organization | CWMA Members or Friends
+GST. Price is Per Organization – one person can register and then we will send a discount code for the rest of your team to register at no additional cost. The fee covers the administration of putting on this event including moderation, recaps, and positive energy.
