$25.00 – $35.00
CWMA Speaker Event + Break-Out Discussions
Tuesday, December 12, 2023 | 10:00 AM – Noon pacific
Let’s start a journey uncovering some of the best ways to coach your community toward using less plastic. Beginning with informative presentations to help us set the stage and start off with common understanding, we will then break into groups to learn from each other and brainstorm new ideas together.
– HOW IT WORKS –
1) We start with some great presentations!
topic: A Base of Plastics Knowledge withJodi Tomchyshyn London, JTL Squared Consulting topic:Reuse Inspirations & Infrastructure with John MacInnes,Earthware topic:Shifting Plastic Use Behaviour with Rosemary Cooper, Share Reuse Repair Initiative topic: The Ocean Friendly Business Programwith Lilly Woodbury,Surfrider Canada
2) Then we will head into Breakout Groups
Each break-out group will be led by those with a hands-on knowledge to help provide relevant information and ensure everyone takes time to contribute their current practices and new ideas.
In each room (we are stacking the decks!) we will include thought leaders who will bring their best practices and current ideas that are being applied throughout the province. The number of people participating in the event will determine if and how often we switch rooms to take part in more than one conversation.
Breakout 2: Educating your community / Leveraging your community’s unique culture Led by Tamara Shulman,Tamara Shulman & Associates | Tai Uhlman, Let’s Talk Trash Breakout 3: Advocacy and lobby best practices for the right local policies Led by Sue Maxwell, Zero Waste BC & Kris Ord, KO Consulting
FAQ: But, what if I want to be in all the breakout rooms! We know, right! We suggest sending more of your team members to branch out, but also know everyone will receive a post-discussion summary from each topic room.
– COST –
$25 CWMA Members | $30 Non-Members/Friends
