This on-line workshop is an experience-informed discussion on handling fridges and freezers after a disaster. Join us to explore a number of examples of fridge collections after evacuations with a highlight presentation from the Columbia–Shuswap Regional District, whose approach to managing this important clean up action after last year’s fires in the region has seen great success.

Topics will include:

• Historic management including burial of whole fridges / mechanical cleaning
• Success with the CSRD approach
• A discussion of potential cleaning options
• Educational resources (IBC info, local government examples, etc.) and specific discussion and
• Advice on bagging materials and unplugging or turning off breakers
• All about bears
• Funding for clean ups
