This on-line workshop is an experience-informed discussion on handling fridges and freezers after a disaster. Join us to explore a number of examples of fridge collections after evacuations with a highlight presentation from the Columbia–Shuswap Regional District, whose approach to managing this important clean up action after last year’s fires in the region has seen great success.
Topics will include:
Historic management including burial of whole fridges / mechanical cleaning
Success with the CSRD approach
A discussion of potential cleaning options
Educational resources (IBC info, local government examples, etc.) and specific discussion and
Advice on bagging materials and unplugging or turning off breakers
All about bears
Funding for clean ups
