Attending a Virtual Event
-
- Using a desktop or laptop for with the EventMobi software will be easier and more enjoyable to navigate and watch the livestream events.
- If possible do not rely on wifi. Many devices can be connected to a wifi network, and live streaming requires prioritized bandwidth. For this reason, we recommend plugging your computer directly into the router or modem with an ethernet cable. This will ensure a robust connection!
- Restart your computer and make sure any unnecessary applications are closed. In order to ensure the best experience, restart your computer about 20-30 minutes before you start watching or presenting, and make sure that any unrelated programs or applications are closed.
-
Treat a virtual conference as you would an in-person conference with respect to your calendar and task load.
Engage though presentations, sponsor booths, and networking. Learn something new! These events are meant to foster learning and create new connections and collaborations!
Q&As, chats with other attendees, and reaching out to participating partners to ask about their solutions are great ways to find out new ideas to put into practice right away.
Minimize distractions: When you’re watching alone, it’s easy to “multi-task” and get distracted. Instead, try to reduce notifications, grab a notepad, and get ready to start learning.

We understand. It will NOT be like one really long Zoom meeting….more like two, well-paced days of binge watching a great program on Netflix, while texting your friends, and checking your instagram for likes. You will be able to watch livestream events, be part of the Q&As, take part in side discussions, and have breaks for coffee…
